BIOGRAPHY

Lindsey Polcyn is a mezzo-soprano newly based in Philadelphia. She received her masters in opera at the Boston Conservatory, and her bachelor’s degree in both Opera and Musical Theatre at Capital University. She recently participated in the Apprentice Artist program with Sarasota Opera. Her most recent roles have been Santuzza (cover) in Cavalleria Rusticana with Sarasota Opera and Desirèe Armfeldt in A Little Night Music. She has previously portrayed Gertrude in Roméo et Juliette, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica, Anna in The Times are Nightfall, Birdie in Stephanie Blythe’s Cabaret show Blythley Ever After, Sarastro in MassOpera’s retelling of The Magic Flute, Florence Pike in Britten’s Albert Herring, Ernestina Money in Hello Dolly, and La Badessa in Suor Angelica. She has been lauded for her powerful sound and velvety, rich tone, accompanied by her commitment to storytelling. She will soon make an appearance as Mrs. Nolan/Baba cover in The Medium, and will return to Sarasota Opera as a studio artist to cover Azucena in Il Trovatore.
